CAPE TOWN CLASSIC DRY GIN COCKTAILS

CAPE TOWN GIN FIZZ

Cape Town is synonomous with a relaxed life style, great restaurants and vibrant nightlife. The Cape Town Gin Fizz was designed to capture the essence of this beautiful place.

INGREDIENTS:

50 ml Cape Town Classic Dry Gin
10 ml Ginger and Lime Cordial
20ml Fresh Lemon Juice
Brut Cap Classique Sparkling Wine
Ice

PREPARATION:

Combine the Gin, lemon juice and cordial in cocktail shaker. Stir to mix completely. Add ice and shake briskly. Strain into flute glass and top with Cap Classique sparkling wine. Garnish with a raspberry and slice of cucumber.

INGREDIENTS:

50 ml Cape Town Classic Dry Gin
25 ml Fresh Lemon Juice
10 ml Elderflower Cordial
6 Torn Basil Leaves
Ice

PREPARATION:

Add the basil to the bottom of a cocktail shaker and muddle gently to release the flavours. Add remaining ingredients and shake hard over ice. Strain into a classic champagne glass and garnish with a basil leaf and slice of cucumber.

CAMPS BAY COOLER

Camps Bay beach is one of Cape Town’s largest and most beautiful beaches. There is no better way to enjoy a glorious sunset, than sipping on a Camps Bay Cooler at one of the many chic sidewalk cafés on the beachfront.

INGREDIENTS:

50ml Cape Town Classic Dry Gin
20ml Fresh Lime Juice
2 Cucumber sticks
± 5 cm long Fitch and Leedes Tonic Water
Ice

PREPARATION:

Add the cucumber sticks to a tall glass and bruise slightly with a muddler. Add lime juice and top up with Fitch and Leedes tonic water over ice. Garnish with fresh mint and a slice of lime and lemon rind.

THE PINK LADY

The Pink Lady is a classic gin-based cocktail with a long history. In this version the pink color is derived from fresh pomegranate juice and a dash of Angostura bitters and the spicy flavours of Fitch and Leedes Ginger Ale.

INGREDIENTS:

50 ml Cape Town Classic Dry Gin
20 ml Pomegranate Juice
Dash of sugar syrup
2 Fresh Raspberries
Tablespoon of pomegranate pips
Dash of Angostura bitters
Fitch and Leedes Ginger Ale
Ice

PREPARATION:

Combine all ingredients into a cocktail shaker, stir briskly and leave to infuse for a few moments. Pour into an ice filled wine glass and top with Fitch and Leedes ginger ale. Garnish with mint and a slice of orange and lemon.

CAPE TOWN ROOIBOS RED GIN COCKTAILS

THE CAPE DOCTOR

Van der Hum is a unique Cape tangerine flavoured liqueur produced from potstill brandy, wine distillate, naartjie peel, herbs and spices. It is a perfect partner to Rooibos Red Gin and best enjoyed after dinner as a digestif.

INGREDIENTS:

50 ml Cape Town Rooibos Red Gin
20 ml Van der Hum Liqueur
Juice of half a lime
Ice

PREPARATION:

Combine ingredients in cocktail shaker and shake vigorously with ice. Serve in liqueur glass and garnish with a slice of orange.

SUNSET RED

Cape Town is situated on a peninsula and has plenty of white sandy beaches, the ideal place to relax after a long day and slowly sip on a Cape Town Sunset Red cocktail while the sun is slowly dipping into the Atlantic Ocean.

INGREDIENTS:

50 ml Cape Town Rooibos Red Gin
Juice of half an orange
Dash of Lime Cordial
Dash of lemon juice
100ml Ginger and Lime Bos Iced Tea
Orange Wedge
2 strawberries thinly sliced
Ice

PREPARATION:

Pour all ingredients over ice, stir lightly and top up with Sodawater. Garnish with fresh mint and two straws.

ROOIBOS REVIVAL

Rooibos is indigenous to the Cedarberg area and gives Cape Town Rooibos Red Gin a unique red colour and wonderful aroma. Combined with fresh lime, it makes for a special drink to be enjoyed on the rocks as a sippin’ Gin.

INGREDIENTS:

50 ml Cape Town Rooibos Red Gin
10 ml of Lime Cordial
Juice of half a lime
3 lime wedges

PREPARATION:

Combine all ingredients in tumbler glass topped with ice. Garnish with slice of lime.

ROOIBOS RED MARTINI

Naartjies (tangerine or satsuma) are citrus fruits grown mainly in the Cedarberg region of the Western Cape. This cocktail is a unique twist on the classic Martini, with Rooibos Red Gin, Cointreau and Naartjie cordial.

INGREDIENTS:

50 ml Cape Town Rooibos Red Gin
15ml Cointreau
10 ml of Naartjie (mandarin) cordial
Juice of half a lime
Ice

PREPARATION:

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake over ice. Strain into a Martini glass and garnish with a wedge of orange and a sprig of fresh mint.
